BIO
Anaja Hvastija Gaia (b. 1995, Ljubljana, Slovenia) is a painter whose practice explores the connection between the physical and the metaphysical. Working in thin, delicate layers, her practice leans toward simplicity, often centering on the quiet strength and subtle presence of the female form. Her paintings invite viewers into a space of reflection on what it means to be human. She earned a BA in Art Pedagogy from the University of Ljubljana (2020). Hvastija Gaia has garnered international visibility through recent solo exhibitions at Allouche Gallery (Los Angeles, 2024), Spring/Break Art Show (Los Angeles, 2024), ATM Gallery (New York, 2023) and Bill Brady Gallery (Miami, 2023).
